Inspiring and nurturing the talents of Westford's children and teenagers requires a strong music program supported by the community at large.
YOUTHArts Westford organizes and mobilizes community support for band, chorus, orchestra, theater and visual arts education and expression in the Westford Public Schools and in the community through financial assistance, advocacy and opportunities for creative expression.
YOUTHArts Westford is a volunteer, non-profit organization consisting of parents, teachers and interested community members. We are fully reliant on the time, skills and financial donations provided by individuals and companies in the community to carry out our mission.
As YOUTHArts Westford and previously as Friends Advancing Music Education (FAME), we have been supporting students at all grade levels in Westford since 1983 including:
Solo and small-ensemble performance opportunities
Student scholarships to attend summer music camps
Recognition awards for deserving students in band, chorus, and orchestra at the elementary and middle school level
Travel funds for music activities in schools
Music for school band and orchestra groups
Scholarships for graduating seniors who have committed themselves to music education during their tenure at Westford Academy
Grants to fund teacher and student requests for music supplies, equipment, and support costs for music related extra-curricular events
